Poet prefers to be a primitive Pagan rather than a member of civilized society as he was not liking the fact that people are becoming more materialistic and are losing touch with nature. He feels that industrialization being built by the people and the evolution of people is not a boon but will cause trouble. He is extremely depressed by the fact that people are not realizing the fact that humanity is a gift and one needs to preserve it rather than wasting it. Hence, decides to adapt to a lifestyle of a Pagan and worship the supreme power. Pagans are people who devote themselves to god and hail from Southern Europe. He intends to become a Pagan as they live life that is free from any sought of modernization and industrialization close to nature. He wanted to get closer to nature and live a life in absolute harmony with the nature hassle-free from any worldly stress.

The poet William Wordsworth is a man who loves to be in tune with the nature free from all modernization. Even his other works state his love and devoting towards nature. He in this particular work of his projects the disrespect humans are showing towards nature and also stress on them distancing from the love of nature. He conveys the mankind that the industrialization they think is a positive aspect is actually not. He in his poem states different situations which he claims to relax and revoke a person’s mind with positive thoughts that shall be missed if we look forward for modernization.
